New Exclusive Photos from ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1′

Summit Entertainment have released 10 new images from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1.

The images, featured in the gallery above, reveal drama, emotion, bridesmaids, Volturi, waterfalls, a shirtless Edward, and a rather determined looking Jacob running in the rain.

The film, based on Stephenie Meyer’s final book, is split into two separate parts. Part 1 follows (spoiler alert!) “the Quileute and the Volturi [as they] close in on expecting parents Edward and Bella, whose unborn child poses different threats to the wolf pack and vampire coven.”

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are of course reprising their roles as Bella, Edward and Jacob.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 opens in cinemas on Thursday, November 17.

Robert Pattinson to do live interview with MTV, questions wanted from fans

To promote Water For Elephants’ pending release, Robert Pattinson (“Edward Cullen” in the Twilight series films) will be doing a live thirty minute interview with MTV next week, and fans’ questions for him are being requested on Twitter.

The interview will take place on Friday, March 18th, at 8:56 p.m. EST and will be streamed live on MTV.com. A new clip from the film will also be unveiled at that time.

Questions can be submitted on Twitter by tweeting @MTVNews with the hashtag “#AskRob.”

This is one of many appearances and promotions we can expect to see and hear from Robert Pattinson related to Water For Elephants. He’ll also be hitting up The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Friday.

The film is due in theaters on April 22nd. Many expect this to be Pattinson’s first big film since becoming Edward Cullen for the Twilight series films.

Will you be seeing Water For Elephants in theaters, and if so, will you be doing so to support Pattinson or because you enjoyed Sara Gruen’s novel of the same name?

‘Breaking Dawn’ Wedding Scene Will Be Shot In April

The pivotal ‘Twilight Saga’ scene will reportedly shoot next month in Vancouver.

With only four weeks left of filming for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part I,” one of the key scenes left to be shot is the wedding scene between Edward and Bella. Now comes word that the scene will be shot during the first week of April in Vancouver.

The news was revealed by Gil Birmingham, who plays Billy Black, during a chat at a “Twilight Saga” fan convention in Nashville over the weekend, according to AceShowbiz.com. Filming for “Breaking Dawn” is scheduled to wrap in mid-April, making the wedding scene one of the last in the film’s production. Late last week, the film’s production was suspended when tsunami warnings threatened production on Vancouver Island.

MTV News had not received confirmation of the filming plans for the wedding scene as of press time.

The Bella-Edward honeymoon scenes were shot late last year in South America. Fans were excited when a photo of Edward and Bella in bed, which Robert Pattinson later laughed off, was released as a tease.

“It’s always awkward, in a way, doing it with anybody,” he admitted about getting cozy in bed with a co-star. “But at the same time … it really depends on how it’s staged and stuff. It’s like doing Twister.”

Kristen Stewart also spoke to MTV News last fall about the pressures of picking out just the right dress for that long-awaited wedding scene. “To be honest, it’s such a big deal. It’s such a big decision. I have a little hand in having a decision — or having an opinion more — but I think it’s pretty much up to Stephenie,” Stewart said, referring to “Twilight” saga author Stephenie Meyer. “I’m not quite sure exactly what it’s going to look like, but it will be beautiful, I’m sure,” she added.

Only one month to go on ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ production

On Monday, Peter Facinelli (“Carlisle Cullen” in the Twilight Saga) returned to Vancouver, British Columbia to resume his work on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn and alerted his fans on Twitter that there is “One more month to go.” The original schedule, posited by Production Weekly last year, had the dates for filming listed as: November 8th, 2010 to April 22nd, 2011.

Of course, there have been a couple of weather-related delays along the way, and, besides, the very first scene to come out of the touch-down in Brazil (“the boat scene”) took place a day earlier than their listed schedule, so the exact date which the Twilight Saga will wrap for good is not an absolute lockdown for April 22nd, though likely.

Evidently, the weather has continued to be no friend to the cast up there because Facinelli also said, “Rainy, muddy, day here on the set of Breaking Dawn. Shooting outside. Vampires are fine in the cold… but the rain sucks. Pun intended.”

Andrea Gabriel (“Kebi” – Egyptian Coven) elaborated to say, “Hey guys! Pouring rain here in Squampton. But so great to see everyone.”

Squampton is another name for Squamish, which is a town outside of Vancouver – one which boasts extraordinary scenery (see here for example), by the way.

It is one of at least half a dozen cities or towns which have been used for production of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (others: Rio de Janeiro, Lapa, and Paraty, Brazil; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Vancouver, British Columbia).

Over the course of the past few weeks, several actors have said goodbye to filming for the Twilight Saga, including Daniel Cudmore and Alex Meraz, and others (Michael Sheen, Jamie Campbell Bower, e.g.) have also completed their work on the final two installments to the Saga.

Pretty soon – that is, in about a month – they’ll all be done, barring any “pick-ups” or “re-shoots” being necessary, of course.

Jackson Rathbone says he had a broken rib on ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’

Jackson Rathbone (“Jasper Hale” in the Twilight Saga) has been doing a lot of press lately, which is a great thing of course, and the latest interview comes from Lite Rock 99.3 from Brevard. Through the discussion, Rathbone issued a few updates about The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

“It’s been a fun shoot so far. We’re about halfway through the process . . . It was a lovely time being in Baton Rouge,” he explained, gushing about his good luck in having family in the area to provide him delicious home-cooked meals on his off-time.

He also talked about the progression of the Twilight films in quality over the course of the Saga.

“I think each film just keeps getting better and better, you know, with the different slate of directors we’ve had, and now we have the amazing Bill Condon, and he’s been a dream to work with. So, I think this is going to be the best one,” he said. “There’s some very exciting moments in the film that Melissa Rosenberg our amazing screenwriter and Bill Condon, our wonderful director, kind of put together to kind of showcase the highlights of this film and to bring the book to life.”

As for doing his own stunts in Breaking Dawn, as he does in most of his movies, he explained that he did so even with a broken rib. Apparently, he was carrying “a bunch of gear” while working with his band, 100 Monkeys, and he tripped on some wires and cracked his rib, but he kept it a secret from the crew so as to still be able to do the stunt-work for the film. “It was painful, but it was worth it.”

‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ wedding production on the way

There are a couple of additional new Twilight-related information bits worth taking a look at, so here’s a wrap-up of the latest in Twilight news!

For starters, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn has headed to the theater, Orpheum Theater in Vancouver, that is. Photos of the location are attached in the slideshow, thanks to Newsflic. Speculation about the location’s use for the film(s) has been offered up by many fans, including Mandy’s Mind who postulates:

“While I am told it is a flashback, it is unclear HOW FAR BACK this flashback is. There are two theories:1 – Flashback to Edward’s human life (Green Eyes anybody?) 2 – Flashback to Edward’s rogue days as a dark vampire feeding on humans(no-vegetarian diet for him if you catch my drift) The second theory seems more likey since it references Midnight Sun and the architecture is more late 1920s than earlier 1900′s. Though we know Edward was in an alley way feeding so maybe that is outside the theatre?”

Any other ideas?

Speaking of Breaking Dawn production, though, apparently it has been revealed (via Gil Birmingham’s Q&A session at this weekend’s Official Twilight Convention stop) that the film’s wedding sequence will be shot on April 1st in Vancouver. It’s been known for a while now that the wedding scene would be done in Vancouver, but the exact date was previously unknown. Remember those fan-made photo manipulations of the Breaking Dawn wedding we looked at back in 2009? Well, the real deal is on its way, it seems. Very exciting, yes?

Moving on, three Twilight stars were in attendance of this year’s Genie Awards in Montreal, and two of them – Jodelle Ferland (“Bree Tanner”) and Cameron Bright (“Alec” – Volturi) – spoke with one source about the Saga. Ferland revealed that there is still a possibility that The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella could make it to film, and Bright explained that the big fight scene the Breaking Dawn cast and crew had been working on for about a month in Baton Rouge, Louisiana included a bit of wire-work by himself which made him appear to “fly around.” Those video interviews are attached.

Everything seems to be shaping up pretty well with Breaking Dawn so far, doesn’t it?

UPDATE: Per a present source, Twitterer @OhMyCarlisle, the wedding production date was actually presented by Birmingham as “in April” rather than April 1st, specifically.

‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ two-parter expected to bring in $1.2 billion

According to Box Office Mojo, the combined worldwide total gross for Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is somewhere in the neighborhood of $1.8 billion (note: that’s just box office – not including DVD/Blu-Ray sales, merchandising, TV rights, etc.).

New Moon brought in the highest total bank with over $709.8 million worldwide, but Eclipse was right behind it with about $698.5 million. Twilight was the kick-off for this franchise, but it debuted with an impressive $392.6 million.

The estimated budget for each was as follows: Twilight – $37 million; New Moon – $50 million; and Eclipse – $68 million.

TheWrap.com has uncovered a really interesting set of projections for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 – revealed as part of a pending studio financing movie, apparently – including the estimated budgets for each as well as their projected intake.

According to their information, Part 1 is costing $127.5 million and Part 2, $136.2 million. As expected, the game is definitely being stepped up for these last two, budget-wise. Revenues are predicted to be semi-directly proportional to spending here as well, it seems, because the income expected to come from Part 1 and Part 2 lands at around $1.2 billion.

Coupling some of the totals noted above, one might notice that New Moon and Eclipse brought in a box office total of around $1.4 billion, so the expectations for Breaking Dawn are not out of the, pun, ballpark of history with this franchise at all. (Note also: As Twilight is so often compared to Harry Potter, it seems appropriate to mention that the second-to-last film in that series, Deathly Hallows – Part 1, just reached the milestone of beating out all of its predecessors on the international market.) Still, the estimates and anticipations are intriguing, if nothing else. Only time will truly tell how well these two fare at the box office, but given the sizeable fanbase already in place for this franchise and the unique offerings these two chapters of the Saga hold in store, $1.2 billion may very well be a conservative figure.

‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ costumes revealed

This weekend, the Official Twilight Convention had a stop in Los Angeles, California, and one of the features of the show was a set of official costumes from the set of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

Twilight Lexicon, which tours with the conventions on a regular basis, shared the attached photos of Breaking Dawn costumes for Robert Pattinson (“Edward Cullen”), Kristen Stewart (“Bella Swan/Cullen”), and Taylor Lautner (“Jacob Black”).

They’ll be posting high resolution photos of the costumes later on their site, so be sure to watch out for those over at Twilight Lexicon.

In the meantime, what do you think of these choices for the three?

The jacket chosen for Bella is fierce, isn’t it?

The costume director for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (both parts) is the award-winning Michael Wilkinson, who has a very lengthy and interesting resume (including Tron: Legacy, 300, and Watchmen). Wardrobes for New Moon and Eclipse were done by Tish Monaghan, and Twilight’s costume director was Wendy Chuck.

Your thoughts? So far, Breaking Dawn is shaping up to be very impressive.

New trailer and still from Robert Pattinson’s ‘Water For Elephants’

Last night became something of an event for Robert Pattinson fans, since a few new goodies from his film Water For Elephants were unveiled, including a new still image from the movie and a new trailer.

The trailer debuted last night on Amazon.com and during American Idol. Whereas the first trailer seemed to focus on the climax of the story, the second offers so much more of the linear plot involved in Water For Elephants. For example, in the beginning, you see Jacob Jankowski, the somewhat privileged schoolboy son of a veterinarian, as he is presented with some terrible news. Then, a glimpse at how he came to be a part of the Benini Brothers’ travelling circus before, finally, we are back to more of the Jacob and Marlena moments.

The trailer is attached.

Water For Elephants comes to theaters on April 22nd and premieres in NYC on the 17th. The U.K. has also gotten a premiere date of May 3rd for the movie.

What do you think of the new trailer? A few weeks ago, re-shoots were done for Water For Elephants to touch up a few of the circus scenes and others. The second trailer seems more complete than the first, yes? Also, there is hardly an unrecognizable moment in the trailer, which is a good thing for those of us who enjoyed Sara Gruen’s novel version of Water For Elephants. Any other thoughts?
